Using traditional methods to create bespoke, functional items for both everyday living and professional catering.
Cake tins like Grandma used to use. No chemical coatings or treatment.
SG Emmett & Son was established in 1924 in Moonah Tasmania. Mr Emmett produced a range of products using tin smith skills - lanterns, funnels, watering cans, rubbish bins, etc. All the products that are now made with plastic. The business has new owners and is now located in Cygnet Tasmania.
We are still using the same machines that they were using in the 1930s. Most of them were manufactured by John heine And Son from Sydney. John Heine old machines are still being used 90 plus years later.
Come and see some of them in operation as part of the 'Hand Made in Cygnet' art trail. We look forward to meeting you if you are interested in traditional hand made cake tins and other quality items.
